Get a clear assessment of reviews that may breach Trustpilot’s guidelines.
We explain whether a report appears justified and help prepare it if you choose to proceed. The assessment is free.
A Trustpilot profile example: 2.8 to 4.6
These screenshots show Better Gas’s profile rating and review count at two points in time. They do not show which reviews changed; each review needs to be assessed individually against Trustpilot’s guidelines. This is one example, not a typical or guaranteed result.

What Trustpilot Will and Won't Remove
A low rating or disagreement with a customer's account does not by itself establish a guideline breach. Reviews that may merit an assessment include:
- Reviews that appear inauthentic, where the available information suggests there was no genuine customer experience.
- Harmful or unlawful content, which may need a different reporting route depending on the circumstances.
- Personal information: addresses, phone numbers or other private details posted in a review.
- Advertising disguised as reviews: promotional content presented as a customer review.
- Reviews meant for a different business: a misplaced complaint about another company entirely. Only the business itself can report a review for this reason.
How the assessment works
Share your profile for a free assessment
Send us your Trustpilot profile URL and tell us what concerns you. We assess your profile against the relevant guidelines. If none appear to qualify, we’ll explain that before any paid work begins.
Prepare a clear report if you choose to proceed
We help organise the available information and prepare the report through your business account using Trustpilot’s reporting process. We confirm the fee before beginning paid work.
Review the platform’s decision and next steps
Trustpilot makes the final decision. We explain its response and discuss appropriate next steps. If you believe the review raises a legal issue, speak with a qualified solicitor about your circumstances.
We only recommend reporting where the available information points to a possible guideline concern. We do not seek to suppress genuine criticism or influence reviewers.
If a Review Cannot Be Removed
Plenty of Trustpilot reviews cannot be removed, and an honest service says so early rather than taking your money anyway. You still have moves that work:
- Reply publicly and stay factual. A calm, factual response is read by every future customer who visits your profile. Never offer incentives for removal or lean on a reviewer to take their review down: pressuring reviewers breaks Trustpilot's rules for businesses, and it reads badly to everyone watching.
- Invite genuine reviews the fair way.Trustpilot expects one invitation per experience, sent to everyone the same way. A steady flow of genuine reviews moves your TrustScore further than any single takedown.
- Remember the reviewer can delete a Trustpilot review of their own. Reviewers edit or delete their reviews at any time, and a problem genuinely fixed is the one situation where revised ratings happen often. The professional reply above is the legitimate route to it.
We assess every case on its facts and tell you which of these applies, even when the answer is that removal is off the table.
Common questions
Can you remove a negative Trustpilot review?
Trustpilot decides whether a review should be removed. Reviews that may raise a guideline concern include those that appear inauthentic, contain harmful or unlawful material or personal information, advertise, or concern a different business.
What does the free assessment cover?
We assess your Trustpilot profile against the relevant guidelines, identify reviews that may have grounds to report, and explain our findings. If none appear to qualify, we will tell you before any paid work begins.
How much does Trustpilot review removal cost?
The assessment is free. If you choose to proceed, removal work starts from £169 per review. We confirm the fee before work begins; profiles with several reviews to challenge are quoted together as one job.
How long does Trustpilot review removal take?
Trustpilot reviews are assessed by their team, who make the final decision on whether to take action. The process typically takes around 28 days, although we’ve had reviews removed in as little as 14 days. Please keep in mind that timings and outcomes are outside our control, and the review may remain visible while Trustpilot considers the report.
